I've always had a fear of airplanes. Quite a number of years ago, I took a flight out to Florida with my best friend at the time. The flight out there was smooth and uneventful. But the trip to go home did not turn out so well. As our plane was approaching the boarding area, a wing of the plane struck the boarding area extension, severally damaging the plane. We had to wait 6 more hours for another plane to go home. And this plane had some electrical issues halfway home when the internal cabin lights started to flicker. All that just reenforced my fear of flying and I've never been on another plane since.

Is that why you always drove out to see me even though it was 11 hours? I am just glad that you were not ON that plane that hit the boarding area extension. That could have ended up very badly effecting how the plane lands successfully or in a fiery ball of twisted metal and passenger seats...
Many things can affect the lights to flicker in the cabin, but that would worry me as well. The worst I had was only when going to visit you in bad weather. I guess I have been lucky. I did pray though. Then I saw a rainbow out the window of the plane.

I have never witnessed a tornado but recently there have been some in the area. Seems the weather is getting worse over the whole world and affected areas that never had certain weather conditions..

The closest thing I've seen to a tornado is a very small whirlwind creeping down a street. Picking up leaves and twigs. It only lasted for a minute or two.
I've seen a couple of category 1 hurricanes. One of which caught me while I was out riding my motorcycle at night when I was trying to beat the storm. A sudden and sustained cross wind of over 70 mph blew me across 3 lanes of traffic out on the highway. I tried to lean the bike down into the wind as far as it could go, but it was too strong to hold a straight line. I quickly found myself getting very close to the guard rail when there was a sudden stronger gust that up-righted the bike, then instantly stopped. I counted my blessings at that point and hauled butt home.
