Title: World's smallest 4k PC
Post by: Sandman[SA] on July 24, 2020, 11:03:58 pm
I saw a review of this by a YouTuber named TimmyJoe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot6qLk7zkfQ&ab_channel=TimmyJoePCTech) {<---Link to that video} and he was actually playing some video games on it like HL2 and Dirt3.  LOL

Here is a teardown of this little thing.

Might not be to bad if you just want something to play CSGO on at low settings but most things going smaller means more money. I wouldn't expect much out of it, might be good compared to an old mobile CPU without dedicated graphics but likely wouldn't be better than entry level dedicated graphics on a laptop from a few years back, if it matches them. But way more portable than a laptop. And they have re-useable  thermal pads that give compare-able to thermal paste results these days.

Well, it's not designed as a "gaming" PC.  But more as a 4k display capable system that can fit in your pocket and still connect a full size keyboard and mouse and whatever else you might need.

Right?  It may not a very powerful system but it is good enough to play a few somewhat modern games.  As well as watch some video's or movies in 4k.  I'd say it's good for people who travel often or have very little space for a full size computer.  Otherwise, it's more of a novelty thing really.

Perhaps my mom's next system can be that small ;)

All she does is look at pics of Hawaii and snow scenes and check email and research religious stuff and watch a lot of YouTube. She doesn't even use IncrediMail anymore so now fewer resources taken up.

I can see the appeal for portability.  These are awesome!  But (IMO) if they doesn't have the power to play 1080p HD youtube video's, then what's the point?  Some of those could, sure.  But none under $130 mark will.  The other drawback is when traveling, you'll still need to carry a wireless keyboard and mouse.

You can get really tiny blue tooth keyboards that have a tiny touchpad on them.
