The trouble with and potential dangers of AI

I have been hearing more and more bad stuff about AI already from artist's personal work stolen by AI and used in people's AI constructed art and sold as their own work, to creeps using AI to make deepfake nude bodies of little girls and grade school students (already has been done and was in the news just this week) to AI voice dupes on people making them say what they did not say.

AI processing has been around for decades now.  Just look at apps like folding at home for example.  But since the crash of bit coin mining, AI started to gain more traction and popularity.  It's because of the bit coin farming craze that we have access to far more processing power to take better advantage of what AI is capable of.  Unfortunately, we have a lot of disturbed people out there that will take the idea way too far off its "intended" course.

Great vids! There is so much to AI and a lot of people are upset by the abuse of AI and no regulations to keep AI under control or even any way to do so even if they tried.

What is scary is that at the 9:00 min mark .. they are talking about something that could very VERY easily lead to more people being scammed in the already existent Romance Scammer scams...

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.  AI if left unchecked has the potential to ruin millions of lives.

It seems like everyone is gearing up for this AI craze.  Nvidia already has a foothold in the door with its Tensor cores in the RTX series cards.  And they are just going to double down on that in the future.  AMD and Intel will also be following suit.  Microsoft has already announced that they will be having some limited baked in AI support with Windows 11.  And windows 12 is rumored to have full AI support.  Giving that your CPU makes a certain threshold of compute.   As is, even AMD's Ryzen 7000 series and Intel's 14th gen top consumer chips fall short of that mark.  So now everyone is pushing hard to get their next gen tech out the door so they can get ahead of the game.

I am already finding so many search results with some popular search engines use AI. At least with Bing you get a choice as it is obvious it is using it but only on the side so you still get normal results in the main search. Google seems to really be embedding it in especially in image searches that it is hard to find what you want now but instead are getting results AI created.

So.  To put this in a nutshell.  The new Google search AI thinks like a 10-year-old who's only source of information is Tic-Tok and Reddit?  Umm, no thanks.
