So YouTube is blocking Ads successfully again on Firefox. I have found a way around it though. Watch in Private Browsing seems to work. Thanks Ghostery for telling me!!
After 2 videos... I got an ad again even in Private Browsing. So much for that. Back to MS Edge when watching YouTube!
There has been a bit of buzz going around about all this happening with YouTube. YouTube is just not generating the ad revenue that they think they should be getting. And very few are willing to spend the $10 a month for a premium account. Honestly, with all the benefit's you get with a premium account, the ad free experience is the only one I would get anything from. And at $10 a month, it's just not worth it. So, it's getting painfully obvious that YouTube wants adblockers to go away. But with so many domains out there literally flooding their sites with ads trying to make a little free revenue. Many of them have a warning popup that instructs you to disable your adblocker/popup blocker to continue browsing. Sites like those will most certainly deliver the user some malicious code. It's no wonder why so many people use adblockers.
Ya I block ads BECAUSE I have seen nefarious ads. Sure YouTube ads don't seem nefarious as they don't pop up and have installs but they are so often and so disruptive that when you are sitting back relaxing watching some Let's Play or Movie only to have MORE ADS than TV movies do ... you have to wonder ... what other video platforms are out there to switch to and it is only a matter of time before others turn up. With how YouTube is being, someone is bound to see this as an opportunity and I can almost guarantee that people will FLOCK to what ever new site that is. Heck people would probably even donate money to anyone who has a video hosting site that does not have all those ads.
However, many YouTubers depends on the ads for them to get paid I have been told. So ... what other options are there?

When it was happening to me on Edge, I would disable adblock. Then turn it back on as the video has started playing. At least mid-video ads go away and reduces the cpu choke.

So far I haven't had any issues yet with Firefox and Malwarebytes for Firefox installed.

I think YouTube is at it again with their anti adblock campaign with Chrome based browsers. But it's not quite as bad as it was before.

I just noticed this today. Now you can't even SKIP the ads.... There is no Skip option and nothing that says the video will play after the ad.

For me, it would continue to bog down my system more and more the longer I stayed on youtube. But the past week or so, it's been working fine.

Imean we are at the point that we PAY for subs WITH ads…. (Amazon prime, netflix basic, etc) . That’s where the streaming industry is.

Ya but what about us who can't afford it or don't have CC? I mean I don't have TV and only have the net just to save money and went from Bell Phone to VoIP as well for the same reason. I just filed for insolvency and don't have my CC anymore so this is just annoying. I have been watching YouTube for so long for entertainment that I can't remember what I used to do before YouTube except for gaming or running websites.
Youtube hooked me on their YTdrug and now I can't go without and they are like pay up then :P hahahah boooooo!

But even if you pay to watch YouTube "ad free", you still get ads. How fair is that?

Wait? You seriously didn't know that live YouTubers can run their own ads too? Those ads are not covered by the premium YouTube service.

Oh I thought you meant that ads still interrupt vids but I have seen YouTubers take time out in their vids to tell you about their sponsor's product.
Right now what I am seeing YouTube do is when you are searching for vids to watch and specify longer than 20 min so you can watch whole episodes that YouTube will have what I call "Trick fake videos" that have clickbait from a real episode but when you play it it is just a 40 min still screen with something saying at the top left corner that you can unlock that episode by paying for YouTube premium. I could not believe how many came up when only days ago I was getting full REAL episodes with the 20+ min filter.
YouTube is very active in its attempt to shove the ads in your face no matter what you try. Even if you do NOT use any ad blockers you will still get these. Double whammy annoyance. After I ran across 2, I realized that all the 2 word titles in my playlist were all YouTube fake vids that were really ads. I don't even remember adding them to my playlist but cannot verify that they added them in without me clicking them and adding them to my playlist. Still, I would not put it past Youtube at this point.

Well, I was referring to live streams mainly. It's also on Twitch too where the streamer can set up some ads to play randomly. It's not controlled by YouTube or Twitch in these cases. And adblockers won't work on them.
