How do you like wireless? Is it reliable? Do you need batteries for it? Does it ever cut out?
-
I like the wireless setup. No wires to get in the way of your arms, hands or controllers when playing. They are pretty reliable but they can also be a bit of a headache to setup and use. Mainly because you have to manually change your audio settings to enable the wireless headset. Both head phones and microphone separately. And that also includes switching from multi channel audio to head phone. This particular set doesn't have removable batteries. It's rechargeable with a USB cable. But they last about 4 or 5 hours of constant use before they need to be recharged. The only time they cut out on me is when I walk to far away. In my case, go downstairs and into my kitchen and I start losing the signal.
An added bonus is that these head phones will pair nicely with any modern smart phone that has stereo blue tooth capability.

I have thought about getting wireless as people say I don't sound as good on my Plantronic headphones but sound better on my cheap pair of headphones on my netbook. I thought it was related to the onboard sound but my computer now has another motherboard as you know .. and no change in the quality of my voice on my main rig..

I have been noticing that better quality mics typically have built in noise canceling features that usually make your voice sound worse if there is any sound at all in the room. There is no way to turn that off. And upping the mic gain does nothing to help the matter either. Give me a cheap mic any day as they are usually far better.

Well THAT would explain why everyone keeps saying I sound better on the $9 crap-name headset Dave uses vs. my $45 Plantronics GameCom 377 one...

So Kaboom, you heard my voice on my Bluetooth headset. On a scale of 1 to 10, how did it sound to you?

Turtle Beach PX22 (http://aspotter.com/2013/07/12/ear-force-px22-by-turtle-beach-review/) (Mic is on opposite earpiece, it's a flexible boom mic)
A definite upgrade over the X31 I used to use (http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/headsets-legacy/ear-force-x31/242), especially considering that I couldn't use the X31's mic on my computer due to it being primarily an XBox 360 headset.

It looks expensive. But they look real nice.
-
$80 for the PX22, and I think $60 for the old X31, which, given that it lasted me like five years, is approximately equal.
-
I couldn't afford nice ones lol :P I am happy with what I got however as they are comfy on my ears ;)
-
I just need to get replacement ear pads for mine.
