That's just her old hardware.  USB 3.0 and up on windows 10 doesn't have that same issue.

Sort of why I was warning KT to watch for that stuff, her mom's computer doesn't have any USB 3 at all.

So my next question is, if she only has one computer and needs this USB stick to connect to the internet, why would she need to unplug it?

Shouldn't need to, but from your experience. Does that usually stop people from doing something anyways?

Exactly. Good to know. Thanks, Dave. I wouldn't have known that. As it is her computer rebooted without warning (we were not on it and not paying attention to it as we were eating supper) I assume for an upset. The thing is whenever the computer reboots it doesn't have the net at first. So once again it had no net which made it perfect for me to show my mom how to log into wifi. This was actually my first time seeing it used in this way as well. I like learning situations first hand. I did not realize it would be hooked up to the wifi and cable at the same time once the net came back up lol.

Yeah, WIFI seems to take a bit longer to log into. If my previous headaches with WIFI can lessen someone else's current ones, it's worth it.

Thanks Dave for helping out with this
