Server maintenance

Today there was a couple of down time issues.  First, Comcast upgrading the service lines in my neighborhood.  Higher bandwidth options will be available here soon.     Second was a rolling power blackout.  So, during the blackout, I did some much needed repairs on the server PC.  The GPU had one fan that was dying.  I replaced the fan, cleaned out the cooler and repasted it.  Other was the stock CPU cooler got upgraded.  I managed to pickup a Deep Cool Gammaxx 400 V2 in blue.  It was only $22 from Microcenter.  It was the only modern single tower style cooler with a 120mm fan that I could find that's compatible with socket AM3+.  The system is running nice and cool now.

I must say, I'm actually impressed with how much better that new cpu cooler is working.  Even under moderate load, it's keeping that processor at a comfortable 34C.  The stock cooler would be 20C higher with the same load.  The odd part of the story is, the gpu is running at the same temp as the cpu is now.  Both hover around 32C to 34C.  I've never seen that happen before with air coolers.  Usually, one device runs hotter than the other.
