Mainly, maybe. but I tend to try and stay away from any update that could possibly cause corruption or data loss. Here's some more data.

I learned the hard way to wait a while before installing any major updates.  Case in point was during the 1709 update and it disabled any and all of my sound card devices.

Yeah, sounds like there is some of that in this update also. Used to be a good idea to keep up to date with the latest updates. Now it seems like gambling on if each update will fix or break more stuff.   :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh: :duh:

I'm really starting to think about looking into linux distros etc, "10" is really starting to wear on me.  :salute:

I'm hearing that Ubuntu has come a long way.  And can even play most steam games on it.

Here is the link to the live version if you want to download it.
Ubuntu 20.04 download

Just burn it to a dvd or create a USB boot drive and you can boot to it without installing anything.  If you want to try it before you commit to it.

Thanks for the link. Also I guess there is a problem with defrag in the 2004 FU that can cause wear and tear on your SSD drives.

I know this is an old thread, but this could get interesting for Windows 10 going forward.

When MS says they are reopening WIN 10 for feature updates I can't help but wonder if it is a feature that gives them more control over our computers to force us to upgrade to Win 11 as they see how people don't want to upgrade. The ESU is good though.

Surely it is.  But it can't be any worse than the stunt they are trying to pull with Win11 and forcing it's users to create a Microsoft account.

Every time someone posts a video on how to get around having to create a MS account, MS ships out another patch to fix that too.  I will NEVER again try to install Windows 11 if I cannot create a local account.
