Title: Show off Dream Gaming PC Setups
Post by: KT 💣 KλBoƠM on August 05, 2020, 02:40:26 pm
I was looking at this page and thought wow I would love a LOT of these set ups! What kind of set up appeals to you? Do you already have a nice looking set up and want to show it off or just want to show off what you are aiming to have one day? Post the pics here!

https://houseandgardendiy.com/best-gaming-setup-ideas/

I have been going for black everything with blue lights. I will post a pic one day when I clean the clutter on my desk first :P But for now here is a look I am kinda going for but this is a lot more than I would have:

And here is one I WOULD LOVE since I Love rainbows :P

Also I HATE Messy wires so I am attracted to what they did for the wires here even though this one is not PC gaming but Xbox One:

What do you wish your computer space layout looked like?

I could imagine this for Dave since his space is part of the living room and he is really into movies and all:

And I could imagine this for Jeff as his gaming space is a separate room instead of in the living room like Dave's is and Jeff's home, in general, has more of a rugged look:

Wow!  Those are some pretty impressive setups.  In order of posting though.

The first one looks more like a bar than anything else.  It's just to busy for my tastes.
The 2nd one looks kind of cool but it's just RGB overflow!
The 3rd one is genius actually, making the wires form what looks like part of a printed circuit board.  Nice job!
The 4th setup is clean and tasteful.  Well cable managed and soft touches of RGB backlighting make the setup look real nice.
And the last one.  Humm.  I can't imagine spending a few hours fragging away on a setup like that.

Ya the first one is more than I would want but was the only one that was all blue. I couldn't find another one closer to what I was going for.  I also like the neat clean look of course.

You know, I did like the corner desk from the 2nd image.  But I also liked the cleanliness and subtle use of RGB back lighting on the 4th image.

4th one is the only one close to the size of your room I think.

I agree :) None of the looks are exactly what I would go for with my small space but these are just ideas to take a bit from each. A computer space isn't just for the virtual world but the physical space has to look and feel comfortable and not cluttered and chaotic as well. :) Good for the mental state ;) lol

Well, you do have a rather small desk that was designed around and for much older equipment.  Like what you used to have when you first got it.  But you can get more up to date desks without the shelves or even create something more suitable for your needs from stores like IKEA.  Where you can get just a long table top and stretch it over a couple of small cabinets.

This might help with doing some of the led lighting cheap. I'm planning on ordering some of these.

A 3 foot light strip for $5?  That's pretty cheap.

$20 off the regular price, so that's like about 80% off. She could probably get some accent lighting set up on a couple items in her room at that price. might need a powered USB hub and a couple USB extensions but could light some stuff up on the cheap.

That dark blue is sexy. Probably can't get it from the store locally but have to order online right?

Yeah.  You order it online and it gets shipped to a store local to you.  You then have to pick it up.

Turned out it's got $6 bucks or more in shipping each. So I'm giving that one a skip.

Please explain how you would be responsible for shipping costs when it's being shipped to a store your intending to buy from?  I'm confused.

some of the online only stuff is thru third partys.  and I was wrong on the shipping prices was more like $12 shipping per unit.

Well that is different.  Maybe it's just a US thing but when I want to order something from a local store like best buy, home depot, walmart or whatever, there is no shipping costs if you pick it up at the store.  There is shipping costs if you have it rushed or want to have it delivered to your home though.  But even that is waved if the item/s are over a certain dollar value.

Maybe you just haven't run into buying from 3rd party venders on those sites yet. Pretty sure Walmart, Newegg, Best Buy all advertise some 3rd party venders in their listing, maybe you just haven't ran across any yet.

Well, I've noticed that on newegg and amazon, yeah.  But they also show additional shipping costs because the merchandise would be coming from another country.

Most stuff that comes to Canada from online suppliers is from another country. We are just used to having to pay very high shipping prices. Also when tracing a shipment we will see it be rediculous like something from Michigan will go to Chicago and then California and then come to Canada to Toronto before coming to our city. It is annoying and expensive but what can Canadians do? Americans have it luckier than you realize Jeff.

For the most part, you maybe right.  The US does enjoy simpler prices on most things.  I once ordered something from Italy.  PC water cooling fittings to be exact from EK.  It went to Germany first, then to Ohio, to New York, to Philadelphia, to California then back to Philadelphia.  The crazy part of that whole thing is it took 7 days to finally get here from the time I had placed the order.  It was $15 shipping on a $45 worth of parts.  But then again, pretty much anything under a certain weight limit is only $15 shipping from just about anywhere outside the US.  Sending to Canada from the US is nearly double that.  So I apologize for my ignorance.
