Even my system comes in just under the minimum requirements.  But I'm mainly just lacking in the graphics department.

Intel Core i7 930 2.8ghz  Quad core w/ HT
XFX Radeon HD 6870 DD.  2 in XFire  2gb of video ram total
24gb G-Skill RipJaws PC1600 DDR3 ram.  Triple channel.

I did get to try the new doom demo and even with everything dialed way down, I was only getting maybe 10 to 15 fps.  And this is not the only game my video cards are struggling with.  So yeah, time to step up my game.  lol

Lucky you can afford to do that. :P It seems harder and harder to be up to date with games today cost wise

Did you miss the part where I said (Doom Demo)?  I'm not going to buy a game that I know my system can't handle.
