Maybe it's just me but I question MS intentions.  Why after all these years with their doing everything in their power to prevent pirating the software, do they suddenly just give the latest and greatest work away for free?  I can understand the big deal with win 8.0 to win 8.1.  Win 8.0 was a clusterfuck and they tried to fix it.

Ya same here. I don't trust Microsoft's intentions at all and it is already said how Windows 10 is basically "Big Brother" in terms of privacy.

Also I thought you might be interested in this reporter who grabbed the feedback from various places (including the Win7 forums I am on) for reasons many are sticking with Windows 7 (or even 8.1):

Questions I think one should ask.
These are the question I ask myself.

1. What will Windows 10 do that Windows 7 won't do?
2. What options does Windows 10 have that Windows 7 doesn't have?
3. Does one want or need those added options?
4. What user control do you lose with Windows 10 (such as forced Windows Updates), and are you okay with that?
5. Does one have the reasonable internet that will allow downloading Windows 10.
6. Can one buy Windows 10 DVD from Microsoft through a legal Retailer?
7. Forget that you can download a free upgrade for the next year. Would you buy Windows 10 to upgrade your system?

With time there are already some reassurances:

http://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-10-after-one-month-hits-and-misses/

Windows 10 is NOT spying on us

http://www.zdnet.com/article/no-microsoft-is-not-spying-on-you-with-windows-10/

However the ISO is no longer available so you now have to upgrade your Windows 7 to 10 directly .. but how do you dual boot without the ISO? I guess you tell it to install on another drive while still having Windows 7 on your current drive connected and it will detect? YOu know I don't know how to do this myself but am doing reading.

The Windows 10 upgrade: Who should do it, who could wait

For some, the move to Windows 10 would mean losing key functionality or legacy software.

The current upgrade snafu surrounding Nvidia GeForce drivers.

No more Windows Media Player in Win 10. (I use VLC anyway and have for a couple years but for some this is not what they want).

Those forced UPDATES and what about people on limited bandwidth / metered internet access?

Windows Gadgets will be forced REMOVED in Windows 10 as they have been discontinued and seen as unsafe due to some gadget makers could be malware.

The EDGE BROWSER that comes with Windows 10 as default:

Hehe :)

As it is did you know Microsoft has been sneaking in some of the Win 10 tracking updates into Win 7 and 8 and 8.1 without users even aware?

If you read about some of the update patches, there are some hint's about that.  But nothing so specific.  Thanks for the head's up.

Ya I kinda expected them to have it for free since they want people (the whole world) to use it

The widest used explanation for why Microsoft wants everyone to use windows 10 is so that all current hardware would be on the same OS.  Which would make sense actually.
