I've seen this video before.  And I do agree that it can be painfully shocking how oblivious some people are when it comes to checking a system over for simple mistakes.  A stick of ram not seated correctly, or a plug not plugged in correctly or at all.  A bent CPU pin or debris in the CPU socket.  A simple check list goes on and on.

It just makes you wonder how a kid that is fairly proficient with a modern windows system, would react to a strictly DOS 6.22 system.  What do you mean, there is no need for a mouse?  lol

This reminds me of when you see how some tire mechanics bead large truck tires.  You can't just inflate them with air naturally.  This is because the tire is commonly squashed down during transport and is then too narrow to reach the bead edge of the rim it's being mounted on.  So, to get the tire to bead, an explosion is required.  Usually, engine starter fluid is used in these cases.  But you can't just spray in starter fluid, set it on fire and the tire just magically pops right on.  Sure, the fluid will burn.  But you need to balance the amount of air to fuel correctly to achieve the explosion.  This is called a stoichiometric ratio.  This formula also applies to all types of combustion engines.  I had to learn all about that in emissions testing class.

I thought this would be a good thread as I found this really interesting! This thread could have videos on comparing computer repair shops as well as tech support stories to share.

Geek / Games Discussion / Young People Try Windows 98

Oh man I LOVED Windows 98 for its ability to be customized! I used to make screensavers and my own startup and shutdown screens back then and used to make my Windows look like how I WANTED it to look. I used to also have a screensaver that was this guy who just grunted and was stuck on an island and was just so amusing but you can't get anymore. or maybe I can... Johnny Castaway!! Found a vid on him!! I miss him lol. So different than now where you have less control over that unless you get certain software and then reinstall it after every update.

But to watch young people today try Windows 98! Now THAT is as hilarious as watching kids trying to open up a cassette tape walkman!  ;D
